by Roland Buresund last modified 2010-05-13 04:12

Doug Fertuck is Principal of Fertuck Enterprise Directions, LLC, which he founded in 2006 after over 30 years with General Motors. During his GM career, he held a number of executive positions in Global Engineering, North America Truck Engineering, Purchasing, and Product Planning. He is co-author of The Lean Office Demystified II with globally recognized Lean Operations expert, Don Tapping. He now applies his broad business background and lean operations experience to the issues and concerns of many business and non-profit clients.

During his career with General Motors, Doug was for five years a member of the team that integrated a loosely confederated set of international engineering groups, each with its own way of doing business, into a single global organization with one set of vehicle development processes. As a business adviser and counselor, he has helped many companies refocus their efforts on their core competencies using simplified and standardized processes and systems.

He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University), a M.S. in Mechanics from the University of Colorado, and a MBA from Michigan State University.
