Chad Smith is a software engineer at ADC Telecommunications in Richardson, Texas, where he writes mostly [incr Tcl] code for the front end to ADC's Cellworx product. Chad works in a network management group (NMIt) and has designed much of the graphical interface to Cellworx, which is an ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) network ring management system. He uses [incr Tcl] with other members of the NMIC group as the-front end to a C++ application core to provide quick and convenient access for customers to configure, manage, and measure the performance of their networks. Chad has been programming in [incr Tcl] for four years.

Outside of work, Chad is a professional clarinetist with 16 years of playing experience and performs with various groups in the greater Dallas area. He enjoys music and teaching; he spent four years teaching music in public schools before venturing into the software and telecommunications industry. Chad also enjoys golf, woodworking, traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with his wife and family.
