John Nolan is a former military intelligence operative who spent twenty-two years in a career evenly divided between intelligence collection and counter-intelligence special operations in the U.S., Asia, Russian, Middle East and Europe.
Upon retirement, Nolan joined an international management consulting firm, where he now servies as a consultant for the U.S. government and numerous Federal intelligence agencies, as well as the business intelligence and counter-intelligence communities. He co-founded the Phoenix Consulting Group in 1991, and serves as its chairman.
Although Nolan continually consults for the US Government on intelligence gathering issues, he also leads the "Commercial Services Practice," which provides both Competitive Intelligence and Competitive Intelligence Countermeasures consulting, organizational and professional development & training services to clients across three different industries, both domestic and international.
In 1997, Nolan co-founded the The Centre for Operational Business Intelligence in Sarasota, FL to provide basic and advanced practical intelligence for business professionals. In addition to business students and clients, Nolan also provides assistance to law enforcement officers, psychologists, marriage counselors and parents.
Multi-lingual (six languages), Nolan received his undergraduate degree from Mount Saint Mary's College, and his graduate degrees from Central Michigan University, and the University of Southern California. His professional affiliations include the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, Association of Former Intelligence Officers, American Society for Industrial Security, National Military Intelligence Association, International Association of Professional Security Consultants, Operations Security Professional Society and Association for Psychological Type.
