Josef Anér

Josef Anér, (born Andersson), 1889 -1984 was a Swedish businessman who was a master of philosophy in classical languages, was head of Guldsmeds AB in Stockholm 1923-33, Uplands enskilda bank 1933-41 and Turitz & Co 1941-56. He was hired several times to reconstruct and clean up companies, including Uddevalla shipyard 1958-59. Anér published a number of books, among others, Magistern blev affärsman (1961) and Dagens affärsman och morgondagens (1963).

Josef and his wife Gunvor, (born Löfvendahl), established a foundation in 1960 with the name Gunvor and Josef Anér's Stiftelse. The couple donated significant capital to the foundation. The foundation's task is to "provide support for the preparation of teaching or education or to carry out relief work among the needy or to promote scientific research with priority over humanities research disciplines". Recipients of funds from the foundation include the renovation and restoration of the cultural-historical village of Stensjö in Oskarshamn municipality.
