Michael A. Belch is a professor of marketing and member of the Executive Committee for the MBA for Executives Program. He teaches managerial marketing, marketing communications, and advertising and promotions management at SDSU. He is also a visiting professor in the Graduate School for International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California, San Diego. He was previously employed by the General Foods Corporation as a marketing representative. He has served as consultant to several companies, including McDonalds, Whirlpool Corporation, Senco Products, San Diego Trust & Savings Bank, GTI Corporation, IVAC, May Companies, Phillips-Ramsey, and Dailey & Associates. He is the author and/or co-author of more than 30 articles in academic journals in the areas of advertising, consumer behavior, and international marketing. He is co-author of the text, An Introduction to Advertising and Promotion Management (1990, 1993, 1995, 1998). Professor Belch has been named Outstanding Marketing Professor at SDSU seven times.
