James R. Evans

James R. Evans is Professor of Quantitative Analysis and Operations Management, and Director of the Total Quality Management Center in the College of Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati. He received BSIE and MSIE degrees from Purdue, and a PhD from Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Evans has published over 70 refereed journal articles and many conference proceedings papers, and is author or coauthor of over a dozen books in the areas of management science, statistics, quality management and control, operations management, creative thinking, and mathematics, including Management Science and Decision Technology with Jeff Camm (South-Western, 2000), Introduction to Simulation and Risk Analysis with David Olson (Prentice-Hall, 1998), and Statistics, Data Analysis and Decision Modeling also with David Olson (Prentice-Hall, 2000). He serves on several journal editorial boards and is a Fellow in and was 1997-98 President of the Decision Sciences Institute. Evans' has applied operations research for several companies and was a finalist in the INFORMS Franz Edelman Competition. He has served as an Examiner, Senior Examiner, and Alumni Examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from 1994-2000, and also as Senior Examiner and member of the training team for the Ohio Award for Excellence.
