Robert K. Cooper

Robert K. Cooper is an advisor to organizational leaders, a public speaker and independent scholar who has spent more than two decades researching leadership, human systems, transformational learning, and personal and interpersonal effectiveness under pressure. He is co-founder and Chair of the Board of Q-Metrics, an organizational research and professional services firm in San Francisco with a client list that includes many of the leading corporations in the United States and Canda. He has lectured at a number of business schools in the U.S. and Europe, and at the Masters Forum: Foundation for Leadership. He serves as an adjunct professor in the Ph.D. program at the Union Institute Graduate School in Cincinnati.

He is co-founder and CEO of Adavnced Intelligence Technologies (AIT), a research institute and organizational learning firm. Along with his partners at Q-Metrics and AIT, Cooper was one of the creators of the EQ Map, the first nationally norm-tested, statistically reliable measurement of emotional intelligence, and Organizational EQ Profiles for teams and companies.

A top-rated public speaker, he serves as consultant to such organizations as 3M and Arthur Andersen, and he has designed and presented leadership development and professional education programs for prominent organizations in the United States and abroad, including 3M, Arthur Andersen, Andersen Worldwide, AT&T, Motorola, Cargill, Pepsico, Smith-Kline Beecham, AC Nielsen, Sun Microsystems, North Memorial Health Care, and Hyatt Corporation.

Dr. Cooper is author of Executive EQ: Emotional Intelligence in Leadership & Organizations and The Performance Edge: New Strategies to Maximize Work Effectiveness and Competitive Advantage. He lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with his wife and children.
