Thomas Kubr

Thomas Kubr is the Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Dynamics.

Previously, he has been with Partners Group of Switzerland where he was involved in the creation and management of various private equity products. These include Castle Private Equity, a USD 300 million investment company quoted on the Zurich stock exchange; Princess Private Equity, a USD 600 million AAA-rated bond issue to be invested in private equity and backed by Swiss Re; and Partners Private Equity, a CHF 150 million limited partnership focused on mid-cap buyouts in Switzerland and Germany.

From 1995 through 1997, Mr. Kubr was a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Zurich. He helped clients in the telecom, airline, automotive supply and financial services industries.

During his time at McKinsey, Mr. Kubr authored a best selling book on business planning for start-ups, “Plan, Found, Grow”.

Mr. Kubr holds an MBA from IMD in Lausanne. He studied aeronautics and aerospace engineering in the United States and earned a B.S.E. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, as well as a M.Sc. and an Aeronautical Engineer Degree from the California Institute of Technology (“Caltech”), Pasadena.

Before earning his MBA, Mr. Kubr worked three years in the engineering department of the Space Division of Oerlikon-Contraves in Zurich. As a project manager he led the R&D and manufacturing effort for a major subsystem of the Cassini-Huygens probe to Saturn, a joint NASA/ESA project.

Mr. Thomas Kubr (1966; Swiss citizen) is married with two children and lives in the Canton of Zug, Switzerland.
